​​After years of development and an extended, sold-out run at the New York Theatre Festival, Me Prometheus is ready for its next chapter.

 

We're assembling the resources to bring this original musical comedy to a full Off-Broadway run.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING

​

Me Prometheus is a ridiculously funny, surprisingly heartfelt musical about cavemen discovering fire - and the chaos that follows. Equal parts smart and silly, with a diverse ensemble cast and a genre-hopping score.

​

Our goal: A self-sustaining, profitable musical with a long NYC run and an even longer afterlife as schools and community theaters license it across the country and around the world.​

WHY THIS STORY MATTERS NOW

​

Me Prometheus is very funny. It's very original. It's also very smart.

 

And there is a real demand for smart, original comedy from theater-goers today (for proof, look no further than recent hits "Oh, Mary", "Operation Mincemeat").

​

But the strength of the show isn't just in surface-level entertainment value...

​

Me Prometheus uses a prehistoric setting to explore modern questions about technology, tradition, and who gets to decide the future - themes that feel more relevant than ever as we grapple with AI, climate change, and seemingly intractable division in our society and world.

Look past the laughs, and it's a story about the halting, messy march of progress - and whether we can learn to handle the power we create.

THE ROADMAP

We've gotten this far through iterative development - multiple student productions, our festival run, table reads, industry reading and industry feedback. We'll continue this proven approach:

•  January 2026: Encore industry reading (incorporating feedback from Nov 11 presentation)

• Q1 2026: Fully-produced showcase run (1-2 weekends, Off-Off Broadway theater)

• 2026-2027: Off-Broadway run

We're also pursuing developmental opportunities (incubators, regional theaters, awards & competitions) to build momentum and credibility.
